Project Description
The Fès controlled landfill has been operated by Ecomed since 2003 and receives approximately 1,000 tons of MSW per day.
An LFG capture system and 1 MW gas engine were installed in 2015, representing one of Morocco’s earliest municipal WtE projects.
The project faced regulatory constraints related to electricity offtake and grid access, limiting scale-up beyond initial capacity.
Project status: Operational (LFG), with limited expansion to date
Project scale: 1,000 t/day MSW; ~1 MW electrical capacity
