Call for Participation - STDM Code Sprint 2017 : Deadline 31 March 2017

Image removed. The Social Tenure Domain Model (STDM) is a pro-poor, gender responsive and participatory land information system which has been developed by UN-Habitat through GLTN and other partners to bridge the gap between formally-registered land and land that is not registered. The usage of STDM has been specifically focused to support those areas falling outside formal tenures and cadastral systems such as informal settlements and areas governed by customary laws and traditional practices. It is based on open source technologies thus making the tool available to all and the concept adheres to some underlying principles of the ISO Land Administration Domain Model (LADM). To further extend the functionality of STDM and also to improve know-how in the region, GLTN has organized a code sprint that will be held from 24th-27th April 2017 at  the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD) in Nairobi, Kenya. The code sprint is open to all geospatial developers and technical documentation writers but requires a formal application including a CV and prior experience in the field. More information about the code sprint is available here. There are limited travel grants available for applicants who fit the profile and preferably come from Africa, Asia or South America.

Applications close on Friday 31st March 2017.
